Grinder Pumps and Systems - A Grinder Pump is a unique product used to pump sanitary wastewater. It differs from the typical Non-Clog pump in that it chops up or grinds the sewage as it passes through the pump. Smaller diameter pipe can be used. It has the capability to pump against higher heads and break down the solids found in sanitary lift stations.
       Grinder pumps are often used in locations that are serviced with a low-pressure sewer. In this type of development, each building site has a pump. Since this sewer is always pressurized, a pump is required at each site in order to pump the sanitary sewage from that site into the pressurized sewer. A typical Non-Clog pump is not able to do this.
        A second application for a grinder is in an individual sewage lift station that has minimal flow requirements but must be pumped into a high head system. A high static lift or a long horizontal run of pipe typically creates the high head.
        A grinder pump is ideal for either of these applications. If you have neither of these or if you are pumping wastewater other than sanitary sewage, consider a Non-Clog pump.
